Our Process

Sample Land Art Design

At Land Art, we want our clients to feel comfortable and relaxed during the design-build process, and would like to let you know a little about the way we work:

Each project begins with an on-site meeting between you and one of our talented designers. The designer will walk your property with you to get a feel for the design intent of the project, and discuss with you your needs, lifestyle, tastes, and budget.

We work in a flexible fashion, as each client is different. Some have specific ideas about what they are looking for, while others need more guidance. Some will wish to execute a full master plan, while others will take a more phased approach. We will invite you explore our website portfolio as our prior work which often serves as inspiration, and helps to refine the overall vision and scope of the project. Many of our recent clients also use Houzz to collect ideas and we offer private Houzz Ideabooks to all clients who enjoy collaborating online.

Should you choose to work with our designer, we will then charge a design fee, and we will prepare a landscape plan which takes into account the discussed elements of the project, and reflects your budget and vision. We typically require a survey or plat to work from, but this can sometimes be waived depending on the complexity of the site, and the requirements of the project. Our design fees vary with the project scope, but in all cases are applied towards the final cost of the project should you choose to work with us.

When the design is completed, the fun begins! We will schedule a design presentation with you, and together you and the designer will go over the design choices that have been proposed. Please keep in mind that Land Art is a full service design firm, and depending on the needs of the project, can provide features that are beyond the scope of the typical landscaping company.

Our design specialties include: water features, screened porches and decks, sunrooms and conservatories, sheds and outbuildings, outdoor living and dining areas, grills and outdoor fireplaces, patios and verandas, arbors and pergolas, swimming pools, spas, fire pits, terraced retaining walls, ornamental ironwork, porticos, fences, gates, and of course- beautiful ornamental plantings.

We prefer to work with natural materials, and are known for balancing the elements of our designs with the existing landscape and the character of the property. Once you and the designer have finalized your design choices, our respectful teams will install your project in as timely a fashion as possible.

All that is left is for you to enjoy your beautiful new surroundings!

We look forward to meeting you soon.
