Snow on Evergreens - It May Look Pretty, But Is It Doing Damage?
What a difference a few weeks can make! In mid-February, we were so relieved that the winter started off on the dry side, but we've been pummeled by snow ever since. Today's late snow brings back memories of the damaging winter of 2009-2010 when evergreens throughout the DC area snapped under the weight of several heavy snows. And let's not even talk about the long winter of 2013-2014 and its decimation of the area's hydrangeas.
